Canadian Rockies Guide: Anne Cayer-Huard
Guide: Anne Cayer-Huard
| Short Bio: I’m originally from the province of Québec where I grew up spending my summer canoeing the rivers and lakes of Quebec. I received a collegiate diploma in Languages and Cultures and I completed a certificate in Spanish at the University of Québec in Montréal. I went traveling for a year between College and University in Central America, where I practiced my Spanish and got initiated to surf. My first contact with BC and Alberta was on a big road trip across the country when I was 18 years old. Then I came back few years later when I started working as a tree planter in Northern BC and Alberta. I quickly fell in love with BC and everything it had to offer; the mountains, the snow, the ocean and good climbing. I finally decided to move to British Columbia 2 years ago when the mountains in Québec became too flat for my taste; I needed steeper and bigger! I just finished a certificate in Adventure Tourism and | ![]() |
Business Operation at the College of the Rockies in Golden and when I’m not at school, I usually spend my spare time riding the amazing terrain of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, ski touring in Rogers Pass, or rock climbing.

Describe the most amazing experience you’ve had while traveling: 3 years ago I went to visit family in the French Alps during Christmas holidays. I was only supposed to stay there for two weeks…but I ended up staying for the whole season; the conditions and the terrain were just unbelievable. That’s when I fell in love with the mountains and decided to move to British Columbia. |
