Guide: John Hinrichsen
Short Bio:
John received a B.S. in Hospitality/ Hotel Resort Management from Rochester Institute of Technology. While at R.I.T,  John Played Ice hockey for the RIT Tigers and won Two NCAA Championship titles there. After College he went on to play professional Ice Hockey in Austria were his love for travel and culture took hold. Growing up in New York and living in Lake Placid, surrounded by The Adirondack Mountains, John’s love for hiking and mountaineering flourished. His favorite high altitude experiences are Mt. Everest, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Rainier, Mt Chirripo and Mt. Popocateptl. He also held on to his competitive edge while going high by completing The Pikes Peak Marathon three times.

John became a CTI trained Life Coach and a graduate of the CTI Leadership Program because he has always been fascinated about what motivates and inspires people. Through his experiences, john understands the connections between moving forward both mentally and physically and that every success physically is a victory within. The possibility of opening the creative doors  for people by Guiding and leading them to beautiful,  inspirational destinations  through outdoor activity  is very exciting to him because it could  provide people with an adventure that lasts a lifetime.

What’s your favorite vacation destination?
Hands down a sunrise from a summit.

What destination would you like to visit?
I would love to visit and explore the Amazon Basin.

What’s your favorite hike?
The Great Range Adirondacks, Lake Placid New York

What's your most amazing experience while traveling?
Visiting a 600 year old Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu Valley , Nepal and witnessing an ancient ceremony there.

Favorite Book: The Alchemist

Favorite Outdoor Activity? Playing guitar, traveling and photography

When did you first catch the travel bug?
I first got the bug to travel when I played Ice Hockey in Austria and had the opportunity to visit many European countries and experience the culture.
