Yellowstone/Teton Guide Kasey Austin

Short Bio: Kasey was born in Alaska and raised in Billings, Montana. She recently graduated as a Presidential Leadership Scholar at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. Obtaining her B.A. in Education, she is currently searching for a real job now that her college days are over. In the meantime, guiding the Yellowstone/Tetons Adventure is what Kasey's most excited about! In her free time, she loves to find new places to explore around Missoula with friends and her dog Moose.
Kasey has received many opportunities to explore internationally with her family on ALA trips: Ecuador, Peru, Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Germany, & Holland. She's also traveled all across the western U.S. and Canada.

What’s your favorite vacation destination?
Anywhere in the mountains! ALA trips in Alaska & Yellowstone.
What destination would you like to visit, that you haven't?
I'd love to go on the ALA Belize Adventure - it looks like a beautiful and exciting place!
What is your favorite historical site, castle, museum, etc?
The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman MT.
What is your favorite hike?
The hike up Lolo Peak in Missoula, MT is always a good one, but I'd say the most interesting hike I've done is Mooney Falls on the ALA Havasupai trip!
What is your favorite bike ride?
It's difficult to pick just one, so I'll just say my favorite bike ride is anytime I'm riding my bike :)
What is your favorite trip to guide and why?
Yellowstone because it has it all! Mountains, prairies, rivers, wildlife, thermal features, history, beauty...the list goes on but you need to see it for yourself to experience its wonders.
What do you do that makes a guest’s vacation special?
I work hard to make sure the guests have an amazing experience and I have a lot of fun while doing just that!

Describe the most amazing experience you’ve had while guiding a trip:
I love watching kids see their first bear, wolf or bison. They get so excited - it's contagious!
When did you first catch the travel bug?
When I was six years old, my dad bought into this business. I've traveled with him ever since.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Hiking with good company or my dog Moose!
What are your hobbies?
Reading, reading, reading :)
