Short Bio:
Lauren was born and raised in suburban New Jersey.  With a large Italian family, she was bound to be a people person. She caught the travel bug at a young age when her also adventurous mother took her and her sister on a once in a lifetime journey to England then to South Africa then home. While other young girls were playing with Barbie, Lauren was always found outside exploring or playing soccer with the boys in the neighborhood.

The current state of our natural environment drove Lauren to peruse an education in those studies.  She recently graduated with honors from Johnson and Wales University with a major in Hospitality Management, Travel and Tourism and Concentrations in Environmental Science and Adventure, Sport and Nature based Tourism. While in School she received certifications in Leave-No-Trace, Sustainable Tourism Studies, Composting and CPR and Fist Aid.

Every spare minute Lauren is searching for ways to give back and finding unique ways to help preserve our planet.  While living in Rd Island, Lauren started the first organic garden at Johnson and Wales, worked continuously with Save the Bay to help clean our coast,

Lauren has an open heart and a compassionate nature. She dives in and makes every journey an adventure for everyone involved. Her job with Austin Lehman is a dream come true for Lauren.  She can’t wait to make everyone’s adventure the best it can be and to build great memories for all her travelers.

What destination would you like to visit?
I am dying to see the Last Great Frontier, Alaska

What’s your favorite hike?
So far it would be the hike through the Great White Mountains in New Hampshire, such an adventure!

Describe the most amazing experience you’ve had while guiding a trip: Volunteering at an elementary school in Costa Rica. We got to play with the kids during recess and help paint their new classroom.

What are your hobbies?
Jewelry making, sailing, writing, reading, hiking, cooking, building furniture, gardening, skiing, volunteering for conservation efforts.

When did you first catch the travel bug?
My mother took my sister and I on a trip when we were young to England and South Africa, there was no turning back after that!
