Guide: Tricia Jansen

Short Bio: Tricia was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. She loves living in Montana and enjoys all the wonderful opportunities and activities the state offers. She currently resides in Billings with her husband, Matt. Tricia graduated from the University of Montana with a concentration on Curriculum and Instruction and taught 3rd grade for two years at a small rural school northeast of Missoula.

This past March, she completed her Masters degree through Walden University and currently teaches Earth Science and Life Science to middle schoolers at Elder Grove. She loves teaching science and enjoys sharing her passion with others. On the weekends Tricia can be found alpine skiing, hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, hunting, running, teaching group cycling classes, cooking and reading.

I enjoy taking groups down the Alberton Gorge in rafts and kayaks

I enjoy sharing the beauty of Montana with all visitors and the thrills of white water rafting.

What do you do that makes a guest’s vacation special?

I enjoy pampering all guests. I like making them feel at home. Whenever a guest comes to my house I try to make them feel welcomed by presenting a clean environment and providing a relaxing place for anyone to be.

Describe the most amazing experience you’ve had while guiding a trip:
Taking my family down the Alberton Gorge for their first time.

When did you first catch the travel bug?
My family has always been blessed with the ability to travel and I have had the bug since I was little when I first flew on an airplane to Minnesota when I was 9 years old.

What are your hobbies?
I love to alpine ski, hike, white water kayak, run, teach group cycling classes, read, cook, hunt, and motivate children about science.
