Why Choose Namibia Safari?
Namibia boasts deserts, seascapes, wetlands, flora and fauna. Blessed with rich natural resources, Namibia possesses a modern infrastructure, diverse cultures and an annual average of 300 days of sunshine! It is the only country in the world that addresses the conservation and protection of their natural resources in its constitution. On your Namibia safari, you’ll experience the best of Southern Africa: dunes, harbors, reserves, exquisite cuisine, mighty elephants and tiny frogs.
Arrive at Windhoek and then travel by light aircraft to Namib Naukluft Park. You’ll be kicking off your Namibia vacation with a two-night stay at the Kulala Desert Lodge, perched on 46,000 acres of private Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Later, you’ll tour through the heart of the Namibia, soaking up spectacular mountain scenery and magnificent views of the famous orange and red dunes of Sossusvlei. You’ll marvel at the way they change color before your eyes, morphing as the minutes tick by from purple shadows to various shades of orange. Burn serious calories as you hike to the top of a powdery soft-sand dune for more breathtaking views. Move on to Deadvlei, a photographer’s dream. Hidden in the dunes, this ancient pan where camelthorn trees grew some 700 years ago consists now of parched white earth peppered with hauntingly preserved trees. Set out on a nature walk in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve to learn about its desert animals and flora. Soar above magnificent sand dunes and desert on an early morning hot air balloon ride, drifting silently down the Namib Valley, watching for elusive wildlife below. Celebrate your voyage with a champagne breakfast at the landing site. Return to the lodge to board a scenic flight to Walvis Bay. Flying over the great dune sea to the coast, enjoy a birds-eye view of Conception Bay, the Eduard Bohlen shipwreck, Sandwich Harbor and the Walvis Bay lagoon and salt pans. Saddle up for the ultimate African desert adventure: camel rides! Retire to the elegant Langholm Hotel and enjoy dinner on the water’s edge. The next morning you’ll kayak through the Walvis Bay lagoon and harbor. Chances are you’ll encounter Cape fur seals, flamingos, pelicans, cormorants and dolphins. Savor a well-earned lunch served on the beach followed by an afternoon with local Namibians as we visit a community development project. In the morning, you’ll fly back to Windhoek to explore the Daan Viljoek Game Park on mountain bikes in search of zebra, giraffe, Oryx, wildebeest, springbok and various bird species. Wrap up your Namibia safari tours with dinner at Leo’s Restaurant, located in a castle boasting spectacular views of the city lights below.
