GLOBAL VISION
| BICYLCE EMPOWERMENT/PRESERVE A PARK | WHO WE ARE | WHAT SETS US APART | GUIDES & LOCAL EXPERTS | LODGES & CUISINE
In September of 2012, Austin-Lehman Adventures, in conjunction with the
World Wildlife Fund, representatives from the Crow tribe and others hosted a
delegation of 14 Namibian tourism industry representatives. Together, we took
a 10-day “No Borders Tour” of Southeastern Montana and Wyoming – visiting
both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Delegates met with property
owners, managers and government officials to explore how they manage these
wide-open spaces and incorporate sustainable adventure tourism activities. In
turn, our international guests shared their Land Conservancy model, how it
works in Namibia, and how it might apply to Native American tribes and their
reservations, as well as tourism in Montana and Wyoming.
“
KUDOS to Austin-Lehman Adventures for recognizing Namibia as a leader in Sustainable
Tourism. Taking it a step further to invite and host a delegation of 14 Namibian Tourism
Leaders on a “No Borders Tour” of the West went above and beyond. Sharing best tourism
practices will not only benefit Namibia but industry leaders in the US, as well, for many
years to come. ALA clearly “Walks the Talk” and delivers on its commitment to the
Sustainable Tourism Movement. Well done!”
