Night 1 & 7: Hotel Camino Real
A close distance to the Managua International Airport, this comfortable hotel with its friendly staff will welcome you upon your arrival in Nicaragua’s capital city. With all the amenities of a modern hotel, this is the perfect place to stay on your night of arrival and night before departure in Managua. The spacious and clean rooms invite you to kick your shoes off and relax before your adventure tour of Nicaragua.
Nights 3-5: Hotel Plaza Colon
Recently rebuilt, this old colonial house located just in front of the main square provides a very comfortable stay to its guests. The colonial architecture and precious wood balconies oriented to the park are the main essence of the hotel. During the second phase of restoration, more rooms have been added and the second patio provides a pretty swimming pool. Antique furniture, room service, and kind attention of the staff are just a part of your stay. A coffee shop and wine shop are within walking distance.
Nights 6&7: Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge
At Morgan’s Rock, you will stay in a luxurious bungalow open to the ocean and enjoy typical Nicaraguan food, excellent climate and the warmth of its people. The surrounding jungle offers a variety of monkeys, wild birds, sloth, and other wild animals that are wonderful for sightseeing. Morgan’s Rock has a private beach great for relaxing, bathing and having fun in the white sand. - While Masaya Volcano is still active, it has only had two lava flows since the 16th century. Who wouldn't want to explore it?
- Lake Nicaragua is home to several bull sharks. These sharks are not native to freshwater. In fact, they will jump the rapids of the San Juan River to reach the nearby Pacific Ocean (in much the same way that salmon swim upstream.)
- Ometepe Island, in Lake Nicaragua, is the largest island in a fresh water lake in the world.
