ALA Guide Robin Brower

Short Bio: I believe the world is only as big as you make it and that life is much like a Cabernet ~ a hodgepodge of complexities that, with time, develop character and balance. I love to travel, laugh and walk around barefoot. I find myself drawn to the mountains and the oceans for recreation and road-trips. I am fascinated with nature and have a collection of heart-shaped rocks from all over the world. People, geographic history and culture intrigue me. I volunteer, participate in serving humanitarian, environmental & conservation efforts and recently took up the harmonica
Trips Guided by Robin:
Robins's Guide Survey:
What’s your favorite vacation destination?
Domestically - Alaska. Internationally - India/Nepal
What destination would you like to visit?
I'd like to work in Antarctica, Safari in Eastern Africa & play in the snow on Mount Elbrus (on the Russia/Georgian border).
What’s your favorite bike ride?
My most memorable bike ride was after a beautiful day of climbing limestone cliffs in Nago, Italy. We traveled through the maje
stic vistas above Lake Garda... The sun was setting amongst the castles, there were birds everywhere and the vineyards were springing their first growth in the valley below.
What is your favorite historical site, castle, museum, etc.?
The Vineyard Chateaux of France fascinate me... They are enumerated, historic and each have their own unique story to tell.
What do you do that makes a guest’s vacation special?
I listen to the intricate details and act. The most amazing experience for me is to truly capture the essence of a special moment for a guest in some way. It's inspiring to be able to see them travel to the incredible feeling they had at that precise moment when they reflect back. I learn a little each time and feel moved myself.
Favorite Movie: Avatar
Favorite Book: Let My People Go Surfing
When did you first catch the travel bug?
Well...my lineage is interesting and I was fortunate enough to be born into an Int
ernational family who appreciates adventure and the education provided to the individual while traveling. I'm so grateful to my parents as it will continue to be a huge part of my life.
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Mountaineering (Skiing/Snowboarding, Rock/Ice Climbing), Fly Fishing, Surfing, SCUBA
What are your hobbies?
volunteering, learning to tie knots, languages, music, gardening and terroir/viticulture.
