Visit the world-famous Ahuehuete Cypress, the “El Tule Tree,” in Santa Maria del Tule. Over 2,000 years old, boasting a 33-foot wide trunk, El Tule, is one of the oldest and biggest trees in the world. Embark on a scenic 18-mile country bike ride to Tlacolula, sharing secondary dirt roads with cattle, goats and local farmers. Stop along the way to see the region’s oldest church. Visit a weaving museum in Teotitlán and bike to Tlacalula. Enjoy a guided Mexico tour of the extensive ruins of Monte Alban, the ancient capital of the Zapotecs, dating back to 500 BC.
