Luxury Lodges & Mouthwatering Cuisine
What's better than coming home from a day of hiking to a hot stone massage, a soak in a bubbly natural hot spring, a good book curled up by a crackling fire and a restful night's sleep in a cozy log-hewn bed? How about topping it off with a sumptuous meal made by expert chefs with fresh, regional fare and a glass of fine local wine?
If you ask us, nothing.
We've found some gems
At Austin-Lehman, we're constantly searching for the best accommodations each of our destinations has to offer. And by “best” we don't necessarily mean the most exclusive, the biggest or most expensive…we look instead for intimate, locally run inns, lodges, B&Bs and resorts whose unique charm and history give our guests a true feel for the region. Each of our properties offers surprising luxury with an absence of pretension. From claw-foot tubs to wood-fried saunas and overstuffed pillows, we'll indulge you in all the comforts…and then some. A true taste of local flavor
Half the fun of an Austin-Lehman adventure is our mouth-watering food! Jump-start each day with a delicious, high-energy breakfast. In the evening, it’s a 5-star restaurant, a campfire barbecue, a trip to a local hotspot or a candle-lit dinner in a private wine cellar. Typically, you’ll order exactly what you want, right off the menu. A variety of selections will easily accommodate all diets, even for the pickiest of eaters. And if you enjoy a fine wine or local microbrew at the close of your day, you’ve come to the right place. Even our trailside lunches are something special
Who'd have thought boxed lunches and trail mix could be gourmet? Our guides know exactly where to find farm-fresh produce, homemade breads, hand-churned ice cream and wood-fired pizza. Enjoy artfully prepared picnics and snacks in the most remote and loveliest places.“Excellent job of picking the restaurants and eating establishments. We appreciated that all of the dining choices were at local places and not chains.”
~ Todd Shermon, Colorado – Alaska Adventure 2006
“Our guides never ceased to amaze us with their culinary skills at lunch. The blender at our picnic was something else!”
~ Philip and Amanda Sourry, Cresskill, NJ – Yellowstone Tetons Family Adventure 2005
“I loved Tortuga Lodge – it was so different from any other place I have ever stayed.”
~ Gail DiLisio, New York – Costa Rica Volcanoes & Jungles Adventure 2006
“Every time we take a trip with Austin-Lehman Adventures, the locations, the food and the accommodations all come together to form the perfect adventure vacation. With perfection like this ALA will keep us coming back for more!”
~ Ron & Sandy Kelly, Ohio – Canadian Rockies Adventure 2006
“Flanigan's Inn was in a sweet setting, the rooms were luxurious. It was very relaxing to arrive after an active day in the hot sun.”
~ Laurie Barnard, Montana – Bryce & Zion Adventure 2006
“All the accommodations were lovely, but I liked the Buffalo Lodge the best – beautiful views from the balcony and an in-room fireplace!”
~ Sue Suchy, Illinois – Banff & Lake Louise Adventure 2006
“Casa Turire really felt magical. The kids were so excited about the duck pond, playground and pool. It was breathtaking.”
