Italy - Tuscany: The Heartland B4H Exclusive“When I first learned of work B4H was doing in Africa I just had to get involved in a big way. I was most impressed by the fact that 100% of all donations, cash, equipment and materials go directly to the recipient communities in Africa.”

Making a Difference - Two Wheels at a Time

Italy - Tuscany: The Heartland B4H Exclusive

Austin-Lehman Adventures is pleased to partner with Bicycles-for-Humanity and all its chapters in sponsoring a unique way to pay-it-forward this fall.

Cyclists from around the world can sign up for a seven day pedal tour of the Tuscany region of Italy. Proceeds from this trip will help fund the establishment of a bike shop and cycling center in a remote African village in the far eastern corner of Namibia. Austin-Lehman has earmarked $1,000 per booking for this trip to go directly to the new bike shop and cycling center in Namibia. To read more about the partnership between ALA and B4H and to view more about the sustainability of this project, please read our news release.

Spend a day touring Florence’s cobblestone streets, countless shops and Renaissance landmarks, including the Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace and more. Cycle the vineyard-clad hills of Chianti Classico, soaking up a quintessential golden-green Tuscan landscape dotted with sheep, castelli, cypress trees and olive orchards. Visit the marbled Duomo in Siena on a guided walk and savor a homemade lunch served by Mamma Licia in the village of Chiusure. Cycle to Monteriggioni, a village surrounded by 14 medieval towers, and explore the quaint streets, art galleries and gelaterie in San Gimignano.

Top off the day with a crostini ai funghi porcini (a Tuscan specialty: toast with mushrooms), ossobuco alla Toscana, and homemade torta, washed down with a glass of bold Chianti or crisp Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

About Bicycles for Humanity
Bicycles for Humanity began in September 2005 with the simple aim of enabling people to raise funds and collect unwanted bicycles to send to reliable partners in developing countries. Its mission is to empower people to improve their quality of life by transferring mobility through the use of bicycles. The goal is to expand the work of its chapter members, build more sustainable initiatives and programs and to mobilize and empower more of the world's poorest people. “We have one focus, mobility through the use of a bike. We have one objective, to help the people of Africa help themselves. We believe that all of us working together can make a difference.” Please visit http://www.bicycles-for-humanity.org/ for more information.
