Costa Rica- Wilderness & Wildlife Adventure

Costa Rica – Wilderness & Wildlife Adventure

Tropical canyons, old-growth rain forests, mighty volcanoes, pristine beaches and abundant wildlife set the perfect stage for this 9-day Costa Rica vacation.

Listen for the rumble of Arenal Volcano and watch at night as smoldering red boulders pour from its mouth. Zigzag through treetops on a jungle canopy tour, coming eye to eye with monkeys and tropical birds. Sea kayak the Agujitas River and Drake Bay on the Osa Peninsula and explore the underwater world of Caño Island, home to the best snorkeling in Costa Rica.

Delve into Corcovado National Park, cited by National Geographic as "one of the most biologically intense places on earth," hiking past thundering waterfalls and along trails rich in vegetation. Tackle the Pacuare's adrenaline-inducing Class III-IV rapids and, after a delicious dinner prepared by your guides, cozy up in a comfortable riverside tent camp. Reward yourself at the end of each active day with a dip in a natural hot spring, a meal of fine local cuisine and a good night's sleep in an exquisite plantation, lodge or tent camp.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go:

  1. The Pacuare: there's nothing like being lulled to sleep as you listen to water echoing off canyon walls on an overnight rafting trip.
  2. The rush: feel your adrenaline surge as you fly from treetop to treetop on a canopy tour.
  3. Arenal Volcano: where else can you sit front row for a natural nocturnal pyrotechnics show?
  4. The mojitos and chocolate cake at Grano de'Oro – one word: yum!
