Holland: Highlights of Holland Biking Adventure

The best of the Netherlands in four days
With its flat terrain, stunning springtime flowers, sandy beach coasts and countless fietspad (bike paths), there’s no better way to explore Holland than by bicycle.
Ride through Rembrandt’s birthplace of Leiden, a 17th century town rich in character and home to the Netherlands’ oldest university, and chat with a group of friendly students in a lively square over a Dutch pancake lunch. Explore the work of the Dutch Masters at the Mauritshuis Art Museum in The Hague and admire Mesdag’s 19th century 400-foot-long Scheveningen landscape, depicting the city as it was in 1881. In April and May, pedal alongside meadows blanketed in tulips, hyacinth and daffodils – a tapestry of coral, pink, purple and yellow as fragrant as it is colorful – and explore the magnificent gardens and flower fields of the Keukenhof.
By night, enjoy a leisurely dinner of local specialties and relax in the comfort of your Noordwijk hotel, your home base throughout your stay.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go…
- The flowers: In the spring time, Amsterdam’s meadows are blanketed in colorful and fragrant tulips, hyacinth and daffodils – a tapestry of coral, pink, purple and yellow. Pedaling alongside this flora is delightful and soothing.
- The canals: The beautifully illuminated canals are Amsterdam’s signature and arguably its most beautiful feature. Whether on a boat or pedaling on a canal bike, it’s the best way to see tons of spectacular Amsterdam sights like 17th-century mansions, tree-lined neighborhoods, houseboats and stunning medieval and modern architecture.
- The Rembrandts: Admire the work of one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history. Rembrandt’s house is here and one of the largest collections of Rembrandt's paintings in the world can be found at The Rijksmuseum.
- The nine streets: One of the city's most popular shopping areas. Find designer fashion boutiques, art galleries, jewelers, gift shops, specialist businesses and plenty of great bars, cafes and restaurants.
