Breathtaking beauty against the backdrop of the Dolomite Mountains
From the timeless canals of Venice to the rolling foothills of the Dolomites, the Veneto – once the sanctuary of wealthy Venetian nobles – is a spectacular land of verdant pastures, robust vineyards, opulent villas and fortified towns.

Arrive in Venice a day early to explore the city’s meandering waterways, narrow cobblestone streets and lasting architecture. Pedal the gentle, snaking Strada dei Vini and quiet country roads into the cypress-clad foothills of the Dolomites, toasting postcard-perfect vistas of snowcapped peaks over a glass of local Prosecco. Enjoy a private tour of the 1,000-year-old San Pietro di Feletto church, famous for its frescos, and shop the boutiques in the quaint hilltop town of Asolo. In Maser, visit Palladio’s 16th century masterpiece, the Villa Barbaro, home to unequaled frescos by Veronese. By night, reward yourself with a plate of local seafood, a glass of grappa and a restful night’s sleep in the comfort of your hotel or albergo.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go…

  1. The gondolas: They’re one of Venice’s most famous symbols worldwide. A ride usually last from 45-50 minutes and will take you around the canals for a different perspective of the city.
  2. The artisans: At the local shops, it’s common to see jewelers stringing glass beads, artists painting and mask makers creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
  3. Piazza San Marco: The most photographed and famous plaza in Europe, St. Mark's is in the heart of the city, surrounded by chic sidewalk cafes and boutiques.
  4. The frescoes: With many of them still vibrant and alive after 400+ years, you will find these extraordinary works of art in several places besides museums: from palazzo walls to church ceilings.
