Montana/Yellowstone - Cowboys, Canyons & Campfires Family Adventure

What better playground than Yellowstone, Big Sky and Paradise Valley?

Austin-Lehman has been guiding parents and kids on adventure vacations in Montana for 20 years. If there's a formula for family fun, we've nailed it.

It's day 5 of your Montana family vacation. Your 13-year-old son, Sam, sits proudly atop his mount, sporting his new cowboy hat (a last minute purchase in Bozeman). He rides up front next to your guide, a 4th generation wrangler. Sam is all smiles – he couldn't be happier, making his way on horseback up a mountain beside a real-life cowboy! Something tells you the new hat might be a permanent fixture on Sam's head for the rest of the summer…

Experience Montana's gorgeous views as you hike into the Yellowstone backcountry, along streamside trails and across ski runs carpeted in flowers. Bike along gently rolling country roads past postcard-perfect farms and ranches and raft a playful stretch of the beautiful Yellowstone River. When night falls, relax and recharge with Big Sky Country’s tastiest cuisine and a soak in a soothing hot spring.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go on a Montana family vacation…

1. Beehive Basin: It's sensory overload as you soak your feet in an alpine lake surrounded by blue sky, granite spires and wildflower-studded hillsides.

2. Our insider's access: Known only to locals (and of course our guides), we'll take a dip in a hidden hot spring that tumbles into the Gardiner River.

3. The Yellowstone River: Rafting it means navigating the longest free-flowing river in North America.

4. The cowboy songs and stories: They just sound better while you're sitting tall in the saddle on a ride up Dome Mountain.
