Wyoming/Grand Teton – Valley Floors to Jagged Peaks Adventure From the Field: Wyoming Vacations

"There isn't a view that will disappoint in the Tetons. I've never seen such rugged, in-your-face scenery – it's like the mountains leap from the ground to the clouds in one straight shot – the only way they go is UP!"

Dan Austin, co-founder Austin-Lehman Adventures

Wyoming – Grand Teton Valley Floors to Jagged Peaks Adventure

Wyoming/Grand Teton – Valley Floors to Jagged Peaks Adventure

Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park celebrates one of North America’s most recognized and revered mountain ranges. The highest of the snow-capped, snaggle-toothed Tetons juts 13,770 feet into the clouds, towering over glacier-sculpted lakes and sagebrush-swept valley floors. Twelve breathtaking summits in all, the Teton's spruce and fir forests, rushing rivers and alpine meadows are home to countless bears, moose, bison, antelope, bighorn sheep, coyote, eagles and trout.

On this Wyoming adventure, paddle raft 8-miles of rollercoaster rapids through the “Grand Canyon” of the Snake River. Bike along the countryside to Jenny Lake, Antelope Flats and Togwotee Pass. Canoe the picturesque waters of Colter Bay, splash through streams on a horseback ride through Bridger Teton National Forest and hike the spectacular Cascade Canyon Trail, keeping an eye out for black bear and grizzlies. By night, enjoy a drink at Spring Creek's Granary bar, soak up the best view (hands down) of the Tetons there is and relax in a bubbly hot tub before calling it a night.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go…

  1. The riding: there's no better way to explore Bridger Teton National Forest than on horseback.
  2. The view of the Teton Range from the Granary bar at Spring Creek: it just doesn't get any better!
  3. Biking Antelope Flats: staring up from the valley at Grand Teton towering over you is about as awe-inspiring as it gets.
  4. Jackson: hitting the town for a night is always a blast.
