Zambia: Luxury Safari

Zambia – Luxury Safari

Zambia beckons the adventurer, with some of the wildest and most remote game areas on the African continent
From the comforts of deluxe, carefully selected camps, this luxury safari showcases Zambia’s three premier parks: Kafue, South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi. Kafue is one of the largest parks in Africa spanning 8,687 square miles. Remote, wild and diverse, it boasts vast tracts of pristine wilderness and is home to over 55 animal species. The South Luangwa National Park lies at the southern end of the Great Rift Valley. There's no better place to stretch your legs and feel the pace of Africa under foot than along the Luangwa Valley’s lagoons, rivers and woodlands. Lower Zambezi National Park lies on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, where thrilling wildlife encounters are matched only by the Park's exquisite scenery.

While Zambia may be less traveled than some of its African counterparts, it is by far one of the most rewarding wilderness destinations in Africa! There's no better way to experience it than on an Austin-Lehman luxury safari.

Distinctive Accommodations

10 days/9 nights in country

Nights 1 – 3: Busanga Bush Camp
Busanga Bush Camp is perfectly situated for some of the best lion viewing in Africa. It sleeps 8 guests in 4 well-appointed rooms built of reed and canvas with wall-to-wall views of the spectacular wildlife that frequents the plain in front of the camp. The dining and bar area are under the shady canopy of majestic trees. Dinners are often served under the stars overlooking the floodplains.

Nights 4 – 6: Puku Ridge Tented Camp
Named for the elusive Puku antelope which never strays far from water, this beautiful camp among the trees overlooks a sweeping expanse of the fertile Kakumbi dambo (valley). Puku Ridge Tented Camp is small and intimate, built unobtrusively close to the wild. Each of the six comfortably furnished safari tents has its own lavish bathroom with the option of taking a shower with the sun on your shoulders.

Nights 79: Chiawa Camp
No effort has been spared to provide guests with a truly sensational Zambian safari experience. With a reputation for professional and personal service, expert African-born guides, a friendly atmosphere, and unequalled logistical support, Chiawa Camp remains one of the foremost safari camps in the Lower Zambezi. The camp is situated in an exquisite location under a shady grove of mahogany trees, in the heart of big game country, with expansive views of the mighty Zambezi River. It consists of 8 spacious safari tents, each set on its own elevated wooden platform under shady tress and with a panoramic view of the Zambezi. Perched right on the banks of the Zambezi, in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park and with the mountains of the Zambian Escarpment as backdrop, it's difficult to imagine a more idyllic setting for a safari camp.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go…

  1. The food! You'll be amazed at what delicious fare can be prepared over an open flame.
  2. The ritual: of welcoming every sunset with a well-earned cocktail.
  3. Where else can you stare in wonder as an elephant manages to silently disappear before your eyes?
  4. Simply put: there's no better way to 'rough it' in luxury!
